 Summary of book 48 laws of power by Robert Greene

 In this book the writer has mention 48 different   ways or tricks or rules through which one can attain power in today’s world  ,   most of the  laws which the writer has mention are  based on  deception   , falsehood and  wickedness , But there are few which based  on cleverness and elegance also.  there are laws which depend upon strategies, planning and thinking.

The first law “don’t outshine your master”  is about careful and clever using of once position in every walk of life, it is always a good idea to please and impress  people above you but you should never go very far away that they will  feel insecure of your talent and consider you a threat to their position.

The second law "Never put too much trust in friend and learn how to use your enemies " talk about an idea that friends will  betray   more quickly than former enemies because the friend know that  you trust them very well with out any doubt so they can misuse your trust  but the the former enemy know that's you don't trust them so that they can be more loyal to you to  get your trust.

The third law "conceal your intention" means that you should always deceive people with your words which should be different from your true intentions ,never  reveal your orignal plans.

The fourth law "always speak less than necessary"   is about that you should not try impress people with word , anyone who speak more than necessary will make them less in control, 

The fifth law is about reputation, the writer is considering reputation as the cornerstone for power, and one should guard their reputation at any cost and make sure their reputation is unshakable, once the reputation slip it will be attacked from all side, there for a primitive measure should be taken for to thwart any attacked on reputation.  Meanwhile a hole should be open in the reputation of your enemy to destroy them.

 In the sixth law the writer has mention about getting people attraction; you should never be lost in the crowd. Always keep doing things which make you talk of the town and always appears large, colourful and mysterious than rest of the people.

 7^th law is about using people to do the work, but you should always take the credit for that

 8^th law is that one should never go to their opponent for any purpose rather makes their opponent came to you, so that you will remain in control

 The next law is about wining through action, if you want to win over your opponent you must win through your action, this win will last longer than the temporary one which you win through arguments

In the 10^th law the writer argue that if someone want to gain power then they should build relation with happy and successful people, and always avoid unhappy and unlucky one.

 The next two laws are about making people dependent on you for their needs and using of selective generosity and honesty to gain the trust of people to be used as a weapon to deceive them

 The 13 and 14 laws states that if you want any help from anyone than appeal to their self interest like seek help in such a way that they will see some profit for themselves in helping you out, And always spy on your rivals to know their intention and plans.

 Next  is about crushing your enemies completely if you left your enemy even in the weakest form the will re gather themselves to challenge your power.

 The law 16, 17 and 18 are about making yourself unpredictable and less approachable so people will consider you different form the rest and it will boost your power over them.

Next two laws are about understanding of people nature before dealing with them ,deals everyone according to their mood and nature, also make sure to not to take side with anyone it will take away your freedom  and power

In the next few laws the writer has mention  that you should re create your own identity ,one must not  live with identity what society want you to be , be independent, concentrate on your main goal, completely accept your failure and keep your hand clean from any wrongdoing or mistakes, play like a perfect courtiers

the laws 27 to 32  are about playing with people need to create cult like following, do every action with boldness, in every matter always think about the ending and plan all the way to it,  show to the people that you  have accomplished everything effortlessly try to deceive people   by giving them option but  all the option should be in your control and never appeal to the truth always appeal to their imagination 

know weakness of everyone so that you can use this to  have a control over them, act like a king don't be common among masses , wait for the right time to act, ignore things you don't have, make yourself symbolic, create aurora of power , stay calm and never loose focus on your main objective avoid anger and emotion and never take anything which is offered for free, never try to copy the style of great and famous who lived before you  rather try to make your own way and try to strike the sources which is creating the trouble for you so that all the trouble will be gone forever,

The last four laws are you should work for change  but  it should be a small change at a time , never appear your self as a perfect deliberately show some minor weakness and mistakes, when you achieve some goal stop there, don't be the overconfidence and ignorant and the last one is changes happened to everything in the world every law every order will change with time so you should also change with the changing world.
