Role of Pakistan army in the politics of pakistan and the way to counter it

At the time of independence  in 1947 the powerful quarter of the newly born Pakistan were considering the sustainability  not the development  of the newly born state as the biggest challenge in front of them. they were are of the opinion that that the boundaries of the Pakistan has been demarcated in wicked manner, secondly  the were well aware of the fact that the narrative of of two nation theory was not very much popular in  all the  province which were to be  parts of Pakistan especially NWFP and Balochistan , in simple they were of the opinion that  the British parliament contemptuously has made a week pakistan , therefore  ruling elite of the country mainly tilt their focus toward  the development of strong military rather then economic development , the former will be helpful  in making  the narrative of Muslim league strong  in the NWFP and Baluchistan  through force and propagandas, secondly they were also thinking that a strong army will be a sole warrantor of sustainability of Pakistan., for that reason a large chunk of the first budget of  1948 was  allocated for defense purposes,  this defense priority increased the  relevancy of Pakistan army in matter  with  every passing years.
Pakistan is located in one of the most hostile region of the globe , India is  the only democratic   country which share a boarder with Pakistan. the eastern neighbor  consider  Pakistan has been made as a result of   conspiracy  of partition of the  mother land of India , the immediate neighbors  both take each other as the biggest enemy , the situation has always remain tense between the two countries, fours wars have been fought and numerous other abhorrent incidents have happened in the past.. in the north of pakistan is located china which is one of the  economic power house of the world but it is not a democratic country rather their one party system or in simple world  authoritarian regime,  Pakistan enjoy a coral relation with China but  neighboring  the authoritarian regime like china always posses a thread  of aggression, In the northwest is Afghanistan which the world most war torn country , the history of this country is  a story  of wars and terrorism,  it has always remained the safe heaven for terrorist, which posses a great danger for Pakistan, in the southwest Iran is locate which is infamous for it proxies a no state fighting groups which are defending the interest of the authoritarian regime of   Iran and   are creating unrest through different means and techniques, In the south of Pakistan is  Indian ocean which is becoming the 21st century strategic battle ground of the  global powers. A strong defense for the country  is always needed in such hostile location to respond any external aggression.

Due to the above mention  reasons the Pakistan army has integrated it self deeply into every entity  of the state, in simple word it has become state within the state and every other entity be it bureaucracy, judiciary, politician or the people  has lost their due value in the matter of state, In seventy eight years of its history Pakistan remain under thirty three years of direct martial law  and in the remaining time  of  hybrid regime. all the major policies  of the state in the history of Pakistan are made under the influence of Pakistan army, especially foreign and economic policies, therefore these policies are drafted in such a way that they directed Pakistan towards military powerhouse instead of economic and social development, it is due the policies of the state those golden  words of Mr. Bhutto  “We(Pakistan) will eat grass, even go hungry, but we will get one of our own (Atom bomb).... We have no other choice!”,  are proving to be right today when we are only Muslim atomic power country  and our children are dying of malnutrition and  food scarcity.

Through propagandas the security establishment has created a sense of mistrust for the civilian institution and leadership, which has tilt the nation sympathy toward dictatorship instead of democracy, such system has been developed in Pakistan in which personalities hold greater value than institution, army chief is more important than the whole institution of pak  army, chief justice has more secrecy than judiciary and prime minister hold greater value than executive, the same is with political parties Nawaz sharif is more  supreme than PMLN , Mr Bhutto grave has more weight than PPP and Imran khan is one man army of PTI ,    this making of personalities  sacred cows  has weaken all the institution in Pakistan , no one can independently work without the involvement of army the same goes with the political parties, in the history no such political party has been developed in Pakistan  which is institutionally strong enough to work without the involvement of army . these are the reason why in today’s Pakistan it is near to impossible to rule out the role of army form politics, but it can be done with gradual and effective changes , epically in the constitution and the working principal of the institution , we have to priorities our institution not personalities  and  develop of our  economic and social condition not military solely, this hybrid system of the state can only be overthrown  with the power of the people because every other existing entities of the state are beneficiary this system.
